TJC OPEN HOUSE!
As part of Second Chances Month, a month dedicated to supporting and highlighting the lives of people coming out of prison, the TJC will be hosting an open house. Come enjoy refreshments, check out the center, and find out how you can be more involved! At 2:30, our guest speaker, Kevin Cooper will be joining us LIVE from death row. He will be reading an essay he wrote about the time he was just a few minutes away from being executed, as an innocent man. Not to be missed!! Join us at 2pm for a preview of the documentary highlighting his innocence.
Prison Community Tour
Have you ever wanted to see inside a prison? Hear the stories of the incarcerated inside? On Monday, April 28, join Empathy in Action director, Megan McDrew, and WeCare Inmate Activity Group of a tour of the north yard of CTF Soledad from 1pm-3:30pm. This tour is ONLY for people not involved in Empathy in Action. Please contact Megan to sign up and start the clearance process for entry.
Annual end-of-year celebration

As a gesture of gratitude and a way for all of us like-minded prison justice warriors to get together, we are hosting our 2nd annual Empathy in Action end-of-the-year party! Please join us on Sunday, June 7th from 4pm-7pm at Megan's home in Monterey. There will be a fully catered Mexican dinner, all you can drink beverages and lots of fun - games, karaoke, art by the Brothers in Blue and more!
Friends, family and children are welcome! Please mark your calendars and plan to attend! We couldn't do Empathy in Action without your volunteer commitment and beautiful, giving hearts. Let us show you our deep appreciation with this celebration!

Sound Bath Healing
We will be hosting a Sound Healing Bath at the center. The evening is open to all; we particularly encourage our formerly incarcerated community, as well as our empathy in action (post, current, and future), to attend.
We suggest you bring a mat or blanket—whatever will help you get cozy and comfortable to embrace the calming, rejuvenating and restorative properties of sound healing.

Holiday Potluck!
Please join us for our first holiday potluck! Enjoy our new space amongst our formerly incarcerated friends, family and allies within our community. Bring a secret Santa gift under $20! Potluck will take place at the TJC from 1-3pm on December 22nd.
